About us

PSB Fitness was founded by myself (Jessie) and my buddy Matt, we met at Sheridan College, and we’ve been inseparable since. Matt is a certified personal trainer with 5 years of experience and 15 existing clients. I have 7 years of experience as a fitness instructor at the top gyms in the world.

Fitness has changed our lives, it has made us feel great physically and mentally, along with boosting our confidence. It has provided us with purpose and has helped us create and tighten bonds in our relationships. Our goal is to spread the health benefits of exercise to as many people as we can. We created PSB Fitness together to make exercising easy and convenient for everyone. We believe that with the use of technology we can make it easier than ever to educate and help people live active and healthy lives.

 

Affordable Prices!

PSB Fitness offers three types of payment options.

  1. $6 for a day pass. You get to work out without committing to a whole contract.
  2. $30 a month. This is a reoccurring fee that you can cancel at any time.
  3. $100 for an entire semester (4 months). For those that need some exercise to relieve the stress of a busy semester.

 

Studio

PSB Fitness offers a variety of training equipment. We have treadmills and exercise bikes for those focused on burning calories and body fat, and who want to strengthen their cardio. There is also classic gym equipment like benches and squat racks along with a variety of dumbbells for those who are looking to add muscle. We even have a variety of machines with simple instructions to follow for ease of use. PSB Fitness also has private rooms for group classes because exercising in groups is usually more fun. We have locker rooms for men, women, and trans individuals.

Technology

Our group classes are guided by advanced virtual trainers which means you and your friends can come anytime to have fun and intense workouts. Don’t worry though, these classes have a variety of difficulty levels which means whether you are a beginner or advanced, we will have classes for you. We have aerobic- and strength-based classes along with yoga classes. We also have tablets around the gym that members get access to that could provide workout routines and proper form for exercises. Members of the gym can get access to this app on their own devices. Members can get access to virtual classes online and in person.

 

Community

There’s a special type of bond that is created when a group struggles, sweats, grinds, and fights their way through a tough workout. HOW MUCH DOES A MEMBERSHIP COST?

At the PSB VR Arcade gym, memberships are priced in a tiered system so that we can find one that best suits your needs, and help you get it. Additionally, we have discounted prices for students with a valid Sheridan One-Card. Students can sign up on campus, at the gym, and online whilst non-students can happily access our website or speak to a front desk associate. Subscriptions are charged on a monthly basis and our prices are as follows:

  • Student Pricing Ranges from – 29.99/34.99/39.99 (Monthly)
  • Non-Student Pricing Ranges from – 39.99/44.99/49.99 (Monthly)

The first tier of pricing includes access to gym equipment, the track, and amenities.

The second tier adds access to classes for swimming, dance, Zumba, and HIIT but also allows access to personal trainers and combat sports instructors!

The third tier adds access to the Olympic Pool, Lane Pool, and also our signature VR and Arcade experience!

We have a location at the Hazel McCallion Campus in Mississauga and also one at the Davis Campus in Brampton. The hours are as follows:

Monday to Friday: 5 am to 11pm

Saturday: 7 am to 10 pm

PSB VR Arcade and Fitness Center is proudly run by our owners Jessie and Matt. Both graduating from the Pilon School of Business, they decided to take their athletic experience of a combined 12 years into a joint venture and started PSB Fitness on the Sheridan Campus. We believe in the right of choice, and PSB Fitness will happily accept those who decide to wear masks along with those who do not. That being said, if you are not feeling so well, and you are experiencing some symptoms of illness, we ask that you stay home and isolate yourself. As per the fitness industry standard, please wipe down seats and machines upon use, and dispose of the wipes accordingly. Wash your hands upon entering and leaving the gym. Make sure you shower before you enter the sauna, or hot tub and pools!

PSB Fitness is proud to hold a CrossFit gym with top of the line Technology equipment in the area. We make sure to provide every type of equipment that are necessary for each fitness goal. We have highly experienced personal trainers who help you learn about different machines, how to use them safely, which machine or exercise is right for you and which one to avoid. Staying active in physical sports is a great way to stay fit along with having fun. To encourage fun and enthusiasm in our community, PSB has a vast sports club which has a 2 match basketball court, a skating ring, a swimming pool, a rectangular field which has a soccer, handball and hockey field surrounded by a 800-meter athletic ring. PSB regularly hold events and championships in these multiple sports to maintain the spirit of sportsmanship amongst our members.

Yoga and Mediation
To keep the soul calm and stress-free, PSB offers many mindful activities including Yoga sessions, Tai Chi (a Traditional Chinese exercise involving deep breathing) and meditation in the woods for a peaceful atmosphere. Unfortunately, most people don’t have access to treatment to fully recover from these types of injuries. However, fear no longer! Here at Sheridan PSB fitness, we have the resources and on-site trained therapists to help you. We show you how to safely use exercise facilities, and will aid in your injury rehabilitation. Therefore, allowing you to bounce back to “The Real You”.

How we diagnose an injury:

First, our trained physio-therapists checks out your injury. Then will review your x-rays or ultrasound results with you, to understand what you are dealing with and how severe the injury is. Torn ligaments have different treatments than pinched nerves do. Second, they will then put together appropriate treatment plans for you.

Firstly, our trained therapist will relax your muscles. They do this by applying cream and medical rub to the affected area.

Secondly, the therapist will rub area, releasing all tension.

Thirdly, they will then allow you to rest in a hot temperature room to relax muscles further, and relax the mind.

In conclusion, this helps for a variety of health-related purposes. Those purposes include: to relieve pain, heal sports injuries, increase relaxation, reduce anxiety and depression, and help general wellness.

  • Heating and Cooling Pads:

Heat therapy relaxes muscles and prevents stiffness. Heat and ice are used together in an alternating patterns. This works to reduce swelling and increase circulation to an area.

Firstly, the therapist will rub area gently with muscle relaxing cream.

Secondly, they will apply cold or warm compress and allow time for relaxation.

Finally, they will apply skin hydrating cream incase of any sensitive skin reactions. In conclusion, this will increase injury recovery time.

 

 

  • Bracing and Taping:

We use a specific type of therapy tape called “Kinesio Tape”. This tape limits movements of muscles and joints. Several layers of tape are rolled around the area to keep of pressure onto the muscles. Therefore, allowing the muscles to recover faster, as they are not being used as much in movements.

    This form of therapy deals with emotions and working your way through them with talking. It helps you view things in a positive way by breaking them down into smaller parts.

  3. Exposure Therapy

    This deals with exposing yourself safely to things that you fear, to help control and confront your fears. Allowing the person to be more confident with themselves.

    This treats moods and personality disorders. It works by changing negative thoughts into positive thoughts. It helps to change the way people think, to allow them to have a positive outlook.

Nutrition can be daunting and confusing. We know how difficult it can be to maintain a healthy diet during our busiest days.

Meet one on one with our nutritionist when you join our gym!

PBS fitness has partnered with Sheridan College to create a new and dynamic gym.

That’s why we offer our nutritionist for all of our gym members and Sheridan students at PBS fitness.

Our nutritionist works with our personal trainers to develop specific meal plans that reflect your fitness goals.

Firstly, you will have a one on one meeting with our nutritionist.

Here we will discuss your goals and dietary restrictions.

Secondly, we will develop a diet plan to reflect your goals.

Our nutritionist will provide recipes to cook meals and links to grocery stores to buy products.

Lastly, you can monitor your success through our cloud app unique to PBS fitness.

When you download the cloud app you will be able to access information from your nutritionist, keep daily logs which track your diet, fitness, mood and energy. As a result we will use this information to continue to develop meal plans that change as your goals change.
